Applications open for the PAX Aus 2014 ANZ Indie Pavilion

PAX Australia is once again hosting a space to specifically showcase Australian and New Zealand indie games and studios for a reduced cost. The ANZ Indie Pavilion will accommodate up to 36 developers, who will each be allocated a small podium where their games will be highlighted and playable.

Having so many developers within the one space means costs can be put towards making the stand build look slick and professional, and will be located in a central location amongst the big name publishers.

To qualify for the ANZ Indie Pavilion, you must meet the following requirements:

  • You must be an established Company in Australia (ABN required) or New Zealand (NZBN required).
  • You must have no more than 5 full time / contracted employees.
  • You must have at least one commercially released game prior to PAX Australia 2014.

If you meet these requirements and are interested in exhibiting as part of the ANZ Indie Booth at PAX Australia, please contact Ben Williams via ben@reedpop.com.au.

The cost for each space is at a further discounted rate from 2013, and is available for AU$1,200 inc gst. Applications will close at the end of May 2014, where the final applications will be chosen by a committee within the PAX Australia team.

An expert panel will also hand-pick some promising games for the coveted Indie Showcase, with extra love, promotion and media exposure.

PAX is the largest consumer games event in North America, first held in Seattle in 2004 and nearly doubling in size each successive year and expanding to a second show in Boston in 2010. A festival celebrating games culture, it connects the world’s leading game publishers with their most avid fans while providing an inclusive community environment.

PAX Australia successfully launched in 2013, and will return this year to Melbourne. Combining the exciting program from the international shows with local content and community events, featuring international guests, speakers, musicians and developers who join local game industry representatives showcasing the best the games community has to offer.

PAX Australia 2014 will be held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre from 31 October – 2 November, 2013, and will be run by ReedPOP in conjunction with Penny Arcade, with the supported partnership of the Victorian Government, Game Developers Association of Australia, and the Interactive Games & Entertainment Association.
