Job Description

We’re looking for a Unity Engineer with a minimum of 3 years experience who has gone through the process of shipping titles.
You should have experience quickly turning ideas into solutions and translating requirements into games.

In the mid-term we are building educational assessment games that validate our users learnings; smaller client-facing projects with key takeaways and learnings. The role is diverse and the projects are varied..

This is a ‘hit the ground running’ job. We have a team of experienced developers who will be able to quickly bring you up to speed.

Long term there are a bunch of idea’s and bigger projects that we’d love to get you involved with. Short-term we need firepower to help us get through the projects we have stacking up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a team player.

  • Design and implement well-engineered, reliable, maintainable, code.

  • Collaborate with team members to develop various gameplay systems.

  • Talent for creating clean and elegant user interfaces

  • Comfortable with working on and extending existing code bases

  • Develop and test code, fix bugs, profile and optimize code as directed.

  • React and respond to an agile environment, work with clients to come up with solutions they get excited about.

  • Capability in working with external API’s; familiarity with XML/JSON structures.

  • Provide support to clients for developed software as there requirements evolve.

  • Keep up to date engineering methods, practices, and technologies.

  • Communicate with other team members, internal customers, and when required external customers to determine requirements.

  • Work well together with other team members in a cooperative, cross-disciplinary team environment.

  • Identify technical and developmental risks/obstacles and generate solutions to overcome identified risks.

  • Mentor other engineers and artists as needed to increase their abilities and productivity.

Who We Think Will Be A Great Fit

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3+ years of professional experience using Unity tools to develop games.

  • A published title (even from a small indie studio).

  • Experience building editor extensions.

  • Proficient with C#

  • Familiar with Unity 5 UI system.

  • A passion for making and playing games.

  • Cross platform experience; PC, Mac, Android, iOS, HTML5.

Desired Skills

  • Capable of producing robust, reusable architectures that can utilised across different games to save time.

  • Familiar with gaming design patterns; can recognise and work within them as well as deploy solutions that fit to described situations.

  • Can create usable in-editor solutions that can be used by our design team to generate levels with ease.

  • Ability to multitask and meet critical deadlines

  • BC/MS in computer science.

  • Understanding of shaders, lighting, materials

  • Experience using external plug-ins to reduce overhead of projects.

  • A passion for making a difference with your work, as we create educational games that connect to all ages
