The NZGDA Conference programme is out and you can download it here!

Like the best games, it’s full of tough choices: which sessions will you go to?  Will you party all night after Indie Game: The Movie?  Will you pitch for the $2000 Amazon Web Services credit?

Our Keynote Speakers: an IGF Finalist + a Top AppStore Publisher

Living The Dream and Enduring The Nightmare (It’s Tough Being Indie).  Alex Amsel is CEO of UK indie game developer Tuna and an Independent Games Festival Finalist and BAFTA nominee.  He’s a co-author of indie hit Eufloria which was recently released on iPad. Alex has worked with brands and titles as varied as Family Guy, Eufloria, Alien Hominid, Puzzler, and even the classic Asteroids.

How to Teach Your Robot Unicorn to Attack (Growing Small Games into Multi-Platform Hits).  Jeff Olsen is the Vice President of Adult Swim Digital and spearheaded the creation of Adult Swim Games, publishers of such hits as Robot Unicorn Attack and Monsters Ate My Condo. The last time Jeff checked, Adult Swim Games had published more Top 100 Paid Apps than any major media company.

Exclusive Indie Game: The Movie screening on Friday night

It was a hit at Game Developers Conference 2012 in San Francisco, at the Sundance Film Festival and at SXSW, now Indie Game: The Movie comes to Auckland for its only NZ screening.  Get inspiration for the conference with tales from some of the world’s most successful indie game developers.

Get your $10 ticket now before it sells out.  This is a separately ticketed event from the conference, and with only 200 seats and a great price it is likely to sell out.  The cash bar will open at 8pm, with the screening at 9pm.  The NZGDA AGM will be at 6pm too.

Action-Packed Art, Design, Tech, Monetization Sessions

You can view the full conference programme here.  As well as experienced local developers, AutoDesk, Google AdMob and Amazon Web Services are flying experts in just to talk to you.

Win $2000 of Amazon Web Services credit and more

Here’s a potential big break for a startup: During Afternoon tea after the Amazon Web Services session, we’ll hold a ‘Dragons Den’ pitch competition. The best pitch for an already-in-development or launched project will receive a $2000 server credit, which may be your big break and let you scale fast. Three games will be chosen ahead of the conference to make a five minute pitch. If you’d like to present, email tim@runawayplay.com with a paragraph and one image describing your game.

There will also be chances to win Adobe Creative Suite 6 Master Collection, a bunch of games and an Amazon Kindle Fire!

Saturday Night Drinks thanks to Interactive Games Entertainment Association

iGEA, the industry association representing international video game publishers and distributors, have come to the party in a big way! Thanks to their member companies, from 6pm Saturday we’ll head downstairs to the ‘Corporate Box’ for networking, refreshments and a few free drinks.

You can purchase NZGDA Conference tickets here.
