This position supports the Producer and Development teams to ensure the correctness of the design ensuring that the implementation of the game is defect free.  The QA Game Tester will work with Developers and Designers alongside our clients to create and execute testing plans, as well as convey the issues in a clear and concise way to the development team. The ideal candidate will have a close attention to detail, patience, ability to think outside the box, be across multiple projects and the ability to communicate well with other team members and our clients alike.

 Daily Responsibilities:

  • Contribute in Scrum Team meetings
  • Test all aspects of gameplay for potential bugs and crashes
  • Approach gameplay from various profiles and perspectives to help fine-tune balance and usability
  • Note issues with game balance, translation errors and documentation
  • Note issues across various hardware platforms and devices
  • Make clear and concise recommendations to improve gameplay flow and enjoyment
  • Write User Test Cases for stories, bugs and features
  • Create and maintain Regression Test Suites

Your skills:

  • A passion for good testing practices – detail oriented, adherence to client standards
  • Worked within an agile development environment – daily standups, retrospectives
  • Evidence of computer programming background and experience with backend systems
  • Basic knowledge of code – writing code not necessary
  • Experience in testing mobile and web applications
  • Knowledge of IOS/Android Operating systems
  • Proficient ability with English language – must be highly fluent due to client meeting requirements

  • Able to work on-site with the rest of the studio in central Christchurch, New Zealand.
