UI Artist

NZ residency or work visa required

The UI Artist is responsible for creating high-quality and engaging UI and motion design content for use in our games currently in development.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Concept, design and pre-visualisation of menus and UI elements to a brief provided by key stakeholders such as the Art Director and Game Designer
  • Creating production art assets and working closely with a front end programmer, and UX Designers to ensure they are implemented accurately in game
  • Maintains and backs up all working files
  • Ensures consistency and quality of own work
  • Receives and understands feedback and modifies work based on direction
  • Creates documentation supporting techniques and process and encourages the sharing of knowledge and ideas

Skills and Experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in 2D Art, Graphic Design, or equivalent game art qualification or experience
  • Understanding of current UX and UI design trends within AAA titles
  • Experience the game engines. Unreal engine specific knowledge of implementation, workflow, Widget Blueprints, Materials
  • A strong interest in graphic & motion design, typography and colour theory
  • Adobe Creative Suite: Being highly proficient in After Effects, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Experience with UI/UX software such as Sketch, InVision, Adobe XD
  • Experience creating style guides, prototyping processes
  • Interest in accessibility and multi-platform scalable UI
