MCH Amplify Strategy Update
10 March 2025
We wanted to update you on the latest developments regarding the Amplify strategy consultation. You can find the NZGDA submission HERE.
The government’s Amplify strategy aims to strengthen New Zealand’s creative and cultural sectors, and we are pleased to share the latest updates.
The Ministry for Culture and Heritage (MCH) completed the public consultation phase, receiving 704 submissions from individuals and organisations across the country. They are now reviewing this valuable feedback to refine and finalise the strategy.
The Amplify strategy is designed to support and enhance New Zealand’s creative industries, and we have strongly advocated for the inclusion of the game development sector. By fostering a thriving creative ecosystem, the strategy aims to create new opportunities, drive economic growth, and promote our unique cultural identity on the global stage.
Since closing the consultation phase, MCH has been working through the feedback and plans to release a summary of their findings this month (March).
We will continue to keep you updated on the progress of the Amplify strategy and any opportunities that arise from its implementation.
