Kia ora Gina,
Our recent Board Strategy Day was a big success! We're excited to share our renewed focus on four key pillars—education, events, government relations, and membership—all designed to support and accelerate the growth of game development in New Zealand.
This strategy will ensure we're delivering real value to our studios, developers, and aspiring talent, creating more opportunities, stronger industry connections, and a thriving ecosystem for game development in Aotearoa. We can’t wait to present the full strategy to our members soon!
In the spirit of celebrating and uplifting our community, we are hosting two fantastic International Women's Day events in Wellington and Auckland over the coming weeks. These events are open to everyone who supports women in games, and we'd love to see you there—check out our website for details!
We’re also gearing up for NZGDC'25 and Wellington Games Week, and in the coming weeks, we’ll be calling for speakers, volunteers, and working group members to help shape these flagship events. If you’re passionate about the industry and want to be part of something big, now’s the time to get involved!
Ngā mihi nui,
Joy Keene,
Executive Director
