Privacy Policy

Purpose

Welcome to the privacy policy for NZGDA (New Zealand Game Developers Association). We wrote it to let you know when we collect personal information and what we do with it. NZGDA will only use your personal information as set out in this policy.

We may need to update this policy from time to time. If we do, we’ll add a post to the site explaining the changes or update the changelog at the bottom of the policy.

The information we collect

You may disclose personal information to NZGDA when you subscribe to our mailing list.

People who will be able to see it

The website administrator will be able to see the information you provide. Anyone who may assist with the site over time may also be able to see it but they won’t be able to share it or use it for their own purposes.

If the personal information you provide forms part of material that you have submitted to be published, members of the public may also see it.

Who holds the information

NZGDA will hold the information. NZGDA is hosted by Siteground and we use MailChimp to manage our mailing list so those services will also hold the information, on our behalf.

How we use the information

NZGDA will only use your personal information to communicate with you, publish material you ask to be published and for any other purpose that is made clear to you at the point of collection. In addition to news of site updates, we may send occasional emails to you in relation to other matters relevant to NZGDA or its audience. You’ll be able to unsubscribe from our email list at any time, no questions asked.

NZGDA won’t disclose your personal information to third parties unless we need to do so to defend our legal position or are required by law to do so.

How long the information will be held

NZGDA will hold the information for as long as we’re providing https://nzgda.com or any related site. When we no longer require it for such purposes, we’ll delete it. You can still unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time and we’ll delete your personal information if you’d like us to. Just ask.

Other information and cookies

NZGDA may collect statistical information about visits to the site to help us understand its usage (this information is anonymous). NZGDA and related tools may use cookies for this and other purposes. Google explains the cookies that Google Analytics sets on the Google Developers site. You can usually remove or block cookies by using settings in your browser.
