AGM and new NZGDA Board Members announced
10 December 2024
The NZGDA 2023/24 Annual General Meeting was held recently on 27th November 2023. More on this below, but first a note from our Chair, Carl Leducq:
Tēnā koutou katoa,
It is my privilege to have hosted my first Annual General Meeting as Chairperson for the New Zealand Game Developers Association (NZGDA). Reflecting on the past 12 months, our local industry has continued to prove its momentum as a globally recognised hub for interactive media, and the NZGDA continues to find ways to showcase the incredible creativity, talent, and passion of our members here in Aotearoa.
As the local industry prospers, there is a growing number of opportunities to learn, connect, provide value, and we are confident in our position to build on our current commitments and also explore new initiatives that can continue showing our industry as a beacon for game development and innovation in the world.
The results of the 2024/25 Executive Board Elections are in and we’d like to congratulate and welcome our new Board Members Anna Barham (Balancing Monkey Games) and Stacey Wood (Broadcasting Standards Authority); we are excited to have you join us and look forward to your new ideas and support. We are also excited that existing Board Members, Elissa Snowball and Lance Burgess were re-elected for another term.
A heartfelt thank you to our outgoing board members for their dedication and contribution to our Association and wider game dev community; Matt Monk, Dave Oshry and Shaun Gear.
We’ll be getting to know more about our incoming board members in the coming weeks, along with announcements on board appointed positions.
If you missed the AGM, you can find the recording on the NZGDA YouTube channel here. The minutes from the AGM are also available.
We look forward to a new year supporting and enabling the game dev community in Aotearoa.
