NZGDA has submitted industry feedback on Toi Mai’s proposed:

Level 3 NZ Certificate in Creative Production/Promotion

Level 5 NZ Diploma in Creative Production and Strategy
We appreciate Toi Mai’s engagement with the sector and the opportunity to help shape qualifications that reflect real-world game development needs.
Level 3 Certificate
There is strong support for this entry-level qualification. It aligns well with creative production roles and provides a clear starting point for learners. Some concern was raised about including tax and business content at this level, but overall, it was seen as a relevant and useful pathway into the industry.
Level 5 Diploma
The diploma was also well received, particularly for its focus on production and leadership skills. Respondents noted its potential to support future producers and recommended aligning it with practical, team-based projects. Clarifying portfolio and assessment expectations would improve its delivery.
Qualification Titles
While generally supported, some suggested the titles could better reflect their digital and creative tech focus to attract learners.
